Agreement between the UAE, Bahrain with Israel

According to the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov, it is not worth being sure that relations are fully stabilized due to the agreement of the Arab Emirates and Bahrain with Israel. It is too early to draw such conclusions.

The diplomat clarified that it is necessary to look to the future, how events unfold and draw appropriate conclusions. He noted that there are 2 sides of the coin: the first side is a sovereign decision, the second is fears of harm to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which was temporarily resolved.

The best scenario in this situation, according to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, will be a large-scale peace in the Middle East, as well as the solution of all current controversial situations.

The signing ceremony took place on September 15, 2020. in Washington. The purpose of this agreement was to normalize relations between Bahrain and Israel, as well as between the UAE and Israel.

The agreement was signed in 3 languages: Hebrew, Arabic and English and by 3 people: the Prime Minister of Israel, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates.

Another significant person at the ceremony was US President Donald Trump, who confirmed the readiness of at least five more countries to sign such an agreement with Israel, which is a great progress.

Donald Trump said: -“Until then, there would have been hardly any person who thought such an agreement was possible at all. Conflicts and difficult situations have served as the basis of relations for decades, but now you can change this basis for a comprehensive peace throughout the region”.

The delegate from the UAE treated the Prime Minister of Israel with respect and gratitude, specifying that “today there have been historical changes in the heart of the Middle East”. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan is confident that these changes will be an example for the whole world and, of course, for the younger generation, who will see new ways for prosperity, peace and the correct organization of the future.

The agreement was announced on August 13, 2020, as Donald Trump announced in advance. During the negotiations, the Arab Emirates and Israel have reached a full understanding on the issue of normalizing relations. The establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Bahrain became known on September 11, the US President posted this information on Twitter.
